Nothing better than fresh hot scones with strawberry jam and fresh cream Yum!
Try this one...

http://www.cooking-made-easy.com/easy_scone_recipe.html

3 cups plain flour
6 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
75gm (2.5 ounces) butter
1-1/2 cups milk

Step 1
Place the flour, salt, baking powder and butter cubes into a food processor. Blend together for about 6-10 seconds. This is called 'cutting in'. When blended, it should resemble a fine crumbly texture much like breadcrumbs.

Step 2
Tip contents of food processor into a large bowl. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk.

Step 3
Using a bread and butter knife, quickly but gently stir in the edges of the flour until milk and four have combined. Be sure not to over mix or your scones may turn out like bricks.

Step 4
Turn out onto a floured surface and flatten out with the palm of your hand. Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Bake at 250C (450F) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.

Let me know what you think :-)

Those scones look amazing - I am having visions of thick clotted cream and sunny summer days in cornwall as I speak! I have never heard of choclate chip scones, though it definitely makes sense to my sweet tooth!
